Ski Patroller of the Year

Bob Freund, aged 56, has been picked for the second time by the 24,000-member National Ski Patrol as its Alpine Patroller of the Year. Ski Patrolling is not some adrenalin charged extreme job but one of eliminating risks, making calculated and conservative decisions and by performing what Bob calls "mitigation of safety hazards."
