Skier survives chute at Tahoe

41-year-old David Benson survived an avalanche in the newly opened "Chutes" expert terrain at Mount Rose-Ski Tahoe resort near Reno last Friday when he was able to ride the wall of snow and wrap himself around a tree. The slide occurred the day after Mount Rose opened the Chutes to skiers and snowboarders for the first time in more than 40 years.
