Delay proves fatal for Sugar Bowl Avy Victim

Everyone had the requisite safety equipment: a transceiver -- an electronic device that can be used to locate someone buried -- as well as a shovel and probe. The group took a methodical approach after the avalanche hit. One person in the party dug himself out and then spotted one victim's glove in the snow, digging him out after five minutes but the delay to rescue the last victim proved fatal.
